Brisbane Heat
147/6(13.0ov)
Sydney Sixers
Match Abandoned
Commentry
Right then, the inevitible has happened, and this match has been called off due to bad weather. Both teams split the points, but the Brisbane Heat will be disappointed because they put up a huge total and would have been confident in defending it. However, the rain gods had other ideas, and there was no play possible after the first innings. With this point, the Sydney Sixers will be the happier team. The action in BBL 12 though continues as Perth Scorchers take on the Sydney Thunder in the second game of the night. That game is scheduled to begin at 3.45 pm IST (10.15 am GMT), so you can switch tabs and follow all the coverage for that game.
Update 3.07 pm IST (9:37 am GMT) - It has started to rain again here at the North Sydney Oval. The covers are back on and the start of the second innings will be delayed. Stay tuned for more updates.
Right then, Brisbane Heat have posted a mammoth total of 147 on the board and they will be hoping for their bowlers to restrict. Sydney Sixers on the other hand will be hoping for their batters to chase this down. Which team will get over the line? We shall find out together. Chase coming up shortly...
Sydney Sixers tried hard to get their length right and managed to get wickets at regular intervals but just couldn't restrict the flow of runs. Steve O'Keefe was the pick of the bowlers as he bagged three wickets and was economical, keeping the score in mind. The rest of their bowlers leaked runs and struggled a bit.
An excellent display of batting in this reduced thirteen-over game and short cameos is all that Brisbane Heat needed. They had a firey start from Colin Munro as he came on with all guns blazing. He scored a quickfire 38 and lost his wicket in the third over. Sam Billings continued his good work but his cameo ended in the fifth over. Jimmy Peirson and Josh Brown soon followed the suit. They kept on losing wickets but it didn't stop their flow of runs and every other batter kept the scoreboard ticking for them. Michael Neser and Nathan McSweeney's gritty 56-run stand at the end made them reach a mammoth total of 147.
