Right then, that is it from this abandoned game where neither teams will be satisfied with how things panned our here. However, the action in the SA20 League 2024 continues as Durban's Super Giants take on Paarl Royals in the next match. That game will begin on 28th January, Sunday at 7 pm IST (1.30 pm GMT), but as you know, you can always join us early for all the build-up to the game. Until then, cheers and goodbye!

The inevitable has happened and it is the rain gods who have the final say in this match here at Centurion. The Pretoria Capitals will be content with those two points as it takes them to number 4 on the points table and above MI Cape Town. On the other hand, Joburg Super Kings who were searching for a win will have to go home with just two points and they will remain last on the points table for now. We only got to see 4.4 overs of action but it was entertaining and it was a even start for both teams. However, we would have liked a proper game of cricket being played.

UPDATE - 11.32 pm IST (6.02 pm GMT) - The rain has stopped and the umpires are out in the middle to have an inspection. However, there are a lot of puddles that has formed around the ground and it does not look too promising. All we can do is hope. Fingers crossed.

UPDATE - 11.06 pm IST (5.36 pm GMT) - The covers are still in place and it is still drizzling steadily. It doesn't look as if things are going to resume. Stay tuned for more updates. UPDATE - 10.31 pm IST (5.01 pm GMT) - Things are still looking very dull at Centurion. The rain has not stopped and it is still pouring heavily. There are puddles forming on the ground and the pitch and the square has been well covered. Chances are getting lesser for the game continuing but we remain hopeful. Stay tuned for more updates.

UPDATE - 9.51 pm IST (4.21 pm GMT) - Unfortunately, it is still raining cats and dogs here at Centurion and the dark clouds don't look to be going anywhere. It is bucketing down heavily and chances are bleak that this game will start anytime soon. There is lightning and the sounds of thunder echo around the ground. We are hopeful that we get to see some cricket action from this game. Stay tuned for more updates.

Oh..no! Just as everyone in the stadium was admiring that effort from Colin Ingram, some dark clouds surrounded the ground, and it started to rain here. The umpires have given the marching orders to the players. After 4.4 overs, Joburg Super Kings are 44/2 as rains stop play in the SuperSport Park. The waiting game starts...

SIX! WHAT AN EFFORT IN THE FIELD! TAKE A BOW!  Eathan Bosch delivers it on a short length and around off. Sibonelo Makhanya pulls it but he doesn't time it well. The ball flies away to the deep mid-wicket fence. Meanwhile, Colin Ingram runs towards it and grabs it with one hand. He realizes that he might go over the ropes and throws the ball in the air. He goes over the rope then runs back and and completes the catch. The replays show that while releasing the ball he just touched the edge of the boundary cushion and the third umpire declares a six. Sibonelo Makhanya gets off the mark but the crowd is in awe of the athleticism of Colin Ingram near the ropes.

Is that out? It seems like Colin Ingram has taken a stunner here. However, the umpires want to make sure and send it upstairs. It is very close in the replays as well and the third umpire gives his decision in favour of the batter.

Jaffa! On a good length just nipping in towards off. Sibonelo Makhanya tries to block it but gets beaten on the outer edge.

SIX! BANG! UP UP AND AWAY! Daryn Dupavillon serves it on a length and outside off. Faf du Plessis dances down the track and tries to play it down the ground. The ball deflects off the outer edge and flies off over the third man fence for a maximum.
