Right then. That's it from the coverage of this game. Bangladesh have sealed the series but the last ODI of the series won't be a dead-rubber, as there are 10 crucial points up for grab. Will the hosts be able to complete the whitewash? Or will Afghanistan end up stealing some points? To find out, do join us on Monday, 28th February. The first ball will be bowled at 1030 IST (0500 GMT). But as you all know, you can join us early for the buildup. Till then take care and goodbye!
Tamim Iqbal, the victorious skipper of Bangladesh, is in for a chat. He says, the partnership that Liton Das and Mujeeb Ur Rahman created was beautiful and they built a solid stand for them. Mentions, the bowlers did really well to seal the game. Adds, even though they have won the series the next game is still important with 10 points up for grabs. Ends by saying, till the time the momentum is on their side, they will look to make the most of it.
Liton Das is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his outstanding knock of 136 runs.
Hashmatullah Shahidi, the skipper of Afghanistan, says that they gave some extra runs at the start and that might’ve released the pressure off Bangladesh. Mentions, they gave away a lot of extras with the ball and that hurt them a lot. Says, that he hopes that his side will work on it and perform well in the next game.
... THE PRESENTATION ...
Bangladesh's bowlers had plenty of runs to play with and they started off really well. A total of 7 bowlers were used by Tamim Iqbal and each of them got into the wickets column. Shoriful Islam bowled well at the start but it was the fiery spell of Taskin Ahmed in the middle overs which completely turned the tide in Bangladesh's favor. He provided his team a much-needed breakthrough and Bangladesh never looked back from that point. Taskin along with Shakib Al Hasan were the pick of the bowlers. Shakib took two wickets and gave away just 38 runs. All in all, it was a dominant display from Bangladesh's bowlers but not to forget the efforts of Liton Das and Mushfiqur Rahim in the first innings that set the game up for them.
Afghanistan lost three wickets inside the Powerplay while chasing a target of over 300 and it was always going to be a challenge for them going ahead in the chase. The pair of Rahmat Shah and Najibullah Zadran did steady their ship somewhat as they went on to stitch a partnership of 89 runs. Although, they failed to convert their fifties into a big one and that cost them the match. Once this stand was broken, things went downhill for Afghanistan and their innings never really got going post that. Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan did show some fight in the end, but 307 proved to be too much for the tourists and they were handed a comprehensive defeat.
A commanding victory for Bangladesh and they not only seal the ODI series but also grab 10 crucial points in the World Cup Super League. Chasing a target of over 300 runs was always going to be a tough ask for a team like Afghanistan and they never really looked like doing so. A clinical performance from the hosts and they deserve to win this match as well as the series, with one more game to go.

OUT! CAUGHT! That is a terrific catch from Mahmudul Hasan Joy (sub) in the deep. Tossed up, on middle. Mujeeb Ur Rahman heaves it high in the night sky towards the deep mid-wicket region. Mahmudul Hasan Joy (sub) there takes the catch just in front of the ropes. He realizes that the momentum is taking him over the ropes so he throws the ball back in play, goes over the ropes, comes back in and catches it with ease. Top effort from the youngster.
Is that a clean catch? The umpire takes it upstairs to confirm. The soft signal is OUT. The replays show Mahmudul Hasan Joy gathers the ball safely in the deep. The big screen displays OUT.
