Right then! That is it from this match but the action in the Abu Dhabi T10 League continues as The Chennai Braves take on Delhi Bulls. That match starts at 2000 Local time (1600 GMT). You can switch tabs and enjoy that match. Cheers!
Deccan Gladiators skipper, Wahab Riaz says that they know the opposition has a great opening pair and it was important to knock them over early on and that's what helped them today. Adds that Russell put his hand up and went out to open the innings which was nice to see and they know that they just need to keep their focus and give their best.
Tom Kohler-Cadmore is the Player of the Match. He says that it would have been nice to complete the century but the main aim is to win the trophy. Says that everyone tries to go out and hit the maximum and all tries the same. Adds that sometimes it goes your way and sometimes it is the opposite.
... Presentation Ceremony ...
Bangla Tigers innings started on the worst possible note as Hazratullah Zazai departed in the first over. Will Jacks followed him in the next over as they were reduced to 10/2 after first two overs. Karim Janat and Johnson Charles departed off the successive deliveries in the fourth over and it became almost an impossible task for Bangla Tigers after that. The wickets kept falling as Bangla Tigers had no answers against the spin of Wanindu Hasaranga and eventually were restricted to 78.
Just like their batting performance, Deccan Gladiators started their bowling on a perfect note as the skipper Wahab Riaz got the wicket of dangerous Hazratullah Zazai in the very first over. Sultan Ahmed was not far behind his captain as he also managed to take a wicket in his first over. Wanindu Hasaranga came in and continued his wicket-taking form as he finished with a five-wicket haul and assured that his team gets a big victory tonight.
A massive victory for Deccan Gladiators here! They beat Bangla Tigers by 62 runs. They have absolutely outclassed Bangla Tigers here today and were clinical both with bat and ball. This victory more or less assures them a spot in the Top 2 while Bangla Tigers will have a lot to ponder about after this loss.
The match is done and dusted. Mohammad Amir got hit while he was bowling and is supposed to be the last man in. He is still feeling the pain and won't be able to bat and hence, Bangla Tigers are stuck on 78 runs. Deccan Gladiators with a comprehensive win.
Mohammad Amir is the last man in.
