Presentations coming up...
Earlier in the match, Yasir Ali played a brilliant innings, scoring an unbeaten 94 runs, helping Durbar Rajshahi reach 197 after a shaky start. Rajshahi lost their first two openers cheaply to Kyle Mayers before Yasir partnered with Anamul Haque, who scored 65, to stabilize the innings. Their partnership exceeded 100 runs, with Anamul's aggressive batting inspiring Yasir to accelerate as well. Mayers took two wickets, and Faheem Ashraf claimed one for Barishal.
Durbar Rajshahi's bowlers struggled, particularly in the final overs, and leaked runs. Taskin Ahmed took three wickets and was economical. Ryan Burl was economical as well but the rest of the bowlers leaked runs.
Despite having the upper hand for much of the match, Durbar Rajshahi watched in horror as Mahmudullah and Faheem Ashraf ran a havoc over their bowlers. Mahmudullah finished with an unbeaten 56, while Faheem sealed the deal with a six, clinching his own fifty and wrapping up the victory with 11 balls to spare.
Fortune Barishal's chase got off to a comical start when they lost their top order cheaply. They stumbled further, finding themselves in a precautionary position of 61/5 inside 9 overs. Towhid Hridoy managed to stabilize things briefly with a valiant 32, but it was Shaheen Afridi’s promotion to number 7 that turned the tide. Joining forces with Mahmudullah, they put together a crucial partnership.
Phew! What a curtain raiser we have witnessed here at the Shere Bangla National Stadium! What a turnaround this has been. A thrilling display of power hitting by Mahmudullah and Faheem Ashraf as they led their side to a confident victory.
