Right then, that is from this one-sided game where Khulna Tigers make it four in four while Durdanto Dhaka still have to wait a bit longer for their second win of the season. However, the action in the Bangladesh Premier League 2024 continues with another double-header lined up on 30th January, Tuesday. The first game will see Comilla Victorians take on Rangpur Riders and that will start at 1 pm IST (7.30 am GMT). In the second match, it will be Sylhet Strikers up against Fortune Barishal which will begin at 6 pm IST (12.30 am GMT), but as you know, you can always join us early for all the build-up to both matches. Until then, cheers and goodbye!
Anamul Haque, the victorious skipper of Khulna Tigers says there was a lot of due and appreciates his bowlers for restricting the opposition to 130. He adds that after nine overs the bowlers came back and bowled exceptionally well and this pitch was nowhere near a 130-run wicket. He further adds that everybody is enjoying and training well with the coaches, which is shown in the results
Mohammad Nawaz is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his fantastic bowling effort. He says that the openers of Durdanto Dhaka were batting really well, and they were looking for wickets, and the back-to-back wickets helped them get back in the game. Says that they were not thinking about restricting their opponents to 130, but the plan was to keep picking up wickets and put the pressure on the batters which they were able to do and he is happy with the win.
Mosaddek Hossain, the captain of Durdanto Dhaka says they missed the momentum after the first wicket and all the batters played terribly. He adds that the bowling from the opposition was not the best but they gave away their wickets. He concludes that this team is much better than this and will bounce back strongly.
Presentation Time...
Earlier in the game, Durdanto Dhaka posted a below-par total. They would have been really disappointed as their openers, Saim Ayub and Mohammad Naim gave them a solid start while Alex Ross contributed in the middle as well, but an extraordinary collapse cost them dearly. The Pakistani spin-pace duo of Mohammad Nawaz and Mohammad Wasim were the best bowlers for Khulna Tigers with three and two wickets respectively. Mukidul Islam got a couple as well with Dasun Shanaka chipping in with one as well. The Tigers made the chase look like a cakewalk and got over the line quite comfortably in the end.
There is not much to say about Durdanto Dhaka as they were completely outplayed in this game except for the first nine overs in their batting innings. Their bowlers just did not have enough runs on the board and they were quite expensive as well giving away freebies. The only positive is Usman Qadir who created one chance that was spilled by the keeper, and they failed to pick up any wickets while defending this target which says it all about their performance.
KHULNA TIGERS MAKES IT FOUR WINS ON THE TROT! They do it with utmost ease as they chase down the target with 32 balls to spare and with all the wickets remaining. Anamul Haque, the skipper led from the front with a brilliant, unbeaten half-century. Evin Lewis supported him well initially with a quick-fire 26 off just 13 balls but unfortunately had to retire hurt. Afif Hossain then came out to bat and maintained the scoring rate with a proactive approach. He too stayed till the end and finished the job alongside his captain.
