Right then, we have already had six games fly by in the 2024 Women's T20 World Cup and we will have a couple of more to end the first weekend of the tournament in style. First up on Sunday, 6th October, it will be clash of the rivals as India Women take on Pakistan Women at 10 am GMT. This will be followed by a clash between West Indies Women and Scotland Women at 2 pm GMT. You can join us a lot sooner though for the build-up of those two games. Till then, take care and goodbye!
Heather Knight, the captain of England Women says she’s pleased with the win. Adds the conditions were tough. Credits the way the openers played. Mentions 140 should be a good score on this wicket and they need to find a way to get there. Ends by saying she’s really happy for Linsey Smith and the performance she put in.
Nigar Sultana, the captain of Bangladesh Women says she's disappointed! Adds they did not bat that well. Credits Sobhana Mostary for the way she played and she hopes she can continue her form.
Danni Wyatt-Hodge is the Player of the Match. She says that it was nice to get out there and the conditions were tough and it feels good to contribute. Adds that they did well to get that total as it was slow and low out there. Reckons that conditions didn't change much and ends by saying that every game is going to be challenging and they need to learn from this game.
For Bangladesh, their innings just did not get a move on! The begging was slow and whenever they wanted to push on, they lost wickets. Sobhana Mostary played well but she was the only one to do so. The rest succumbed under pressure. Bangladesh will be disappointed because they did a fine job with the ball earlier on. Let's now head to the presentation ceremony...
An excellent bowling performance by England and they have begun their campaign with a win. Defending an average score, wickets is what England needed and they got it at the start. Smith was brilliant and she was well supported by Nat Sciver-Brunt and Dean. Sophie Ecclestone and Glenn were good in the middle overs and in the end, it was a good win.

NOT OUT! The batter is in. Khatun steps out. This is flatter and outside off. Khatun swings but misses. Jones collects the ball. Not cleanly but manages to take the bails off. They take it upstairs but Khaun is back in time but it doesn't matter as England Women win by 21 runs.

That's right in front! The umpire agrees as he has given it out! Mostary reviews. She has to, she's probably Bangladesh's last hope. OUT! Flatter and on middle. Mostsry walks across and looks to play the slog sweep but misses and gets hit on the pads. It is clipping the leg pole. That should be the game for Entlwnd if it wasn't obvious before this ball.
