Right then. That is all we have from this game. The action in the Bangladesh Premier League continues on 1st Feb 2022 and we have two games coming our way. Comilla Victorians will face Minister Group Dhaka in the first game at 12 pm IST (6:30 am GMT). In the second clash, Chattogram Challengers will face Fortune Barishal at 5 pm IST (11:30 am GMT). Make sure you join us in advance for the buildup. Cheers for now!
Shakib Al Hasan is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his all-round show! He says that the wicket was a good one to bat so he is happy with the way he batted. Adds that there was a bit of dew so they wanted to make sure that the spinners bowled at the start. Mentions that the bowling unit has done really well but the batters need to step up. Praises Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Dwayne Bravo and says that they are world-class bowlers. Informs that they are still searching for the right opening pair.
Mushfiqur Rahim, the skipper of Khulna Tigers, says that there were no demons in the wicket and the top-order batters should have shown more intent. Says that the bowlers had a good game and the target should have been chased on this pitch. Mentions that they should have scored more in the Powerplay. Praises Yasir Ali for the way he batted and hopes that next time they will get over the line.
Stay tuned for the presenation.
The bowling was brilliant and more than the bowling, the captaincy was outstanding. Shakib Al Hasan bowled himself and Mujeeb Ur Rahman out in the first 10 and pushed the rate up over 10. The two spinners bowled 8 overs for just 23 runs with Shakib Al Hasan taking 2 wickets. Dwayne Bravo then came in and bagged two in one over. Rahim and Ali did revive hopes but it was Fortune Barishal’s bowlers who kept their nerve and came out victorious.
Once the Powerplay ended, Khulna Tigers lost three wickets in no time. That pushed them right behind the 8 ball. Mushfiqur Rahim and Yasir Ali then came in and started to re-build. The two wanted to take it deep and did so. They needed around 70 in the last 5 and the big shots came out. They got it down to 36 in the last two but Rahim’s wicket was the killer blow in the penultimate over. Yasir Ali and Seekkuge Prasanna did try but they fell short but not by much. Had there been intent at the start, the target would have been chased quite easily.
A margin of just the 6 runs is what cost Khulna Tigers the game! Have to say, it was the intent at the start which cost them the game. The way the openers played, their cautious approach, and then not cashing in once they got their eyes in is probably what cost them the game. They had not lost a wicket in the first six and were going at below 4 per over. Have to blame the two openers and their cautious approach for this.

Yorker, on off. Driven to long off for one. All is done now.

Just 2 more! Legal deliveries will get Khulna Tigers over the line now. A wide yorker, Yasir Ali drives it to deep cover and sets off for the second as well. The throw comes in and Nurul Hasan fails to gather it cleanly. Could have been a run out there.
Mahedi Hasan walks out to bat.

OUT! TAKEN! Jake Lintott, the substitute fielder has taken a great catch! Full, on off. Seekkuge Prasanna flicks it wide of long on. Jake Lintott runs across to his right and slides to take it. It pops out once, twice, thrice, I reckon it pops out four times but Jake Lintott manages to take it cleanly!
Is that a catch? Looks like it given how Jake Lintott celebrated. It is taken upstairs and the soft signal is not out. Looks like he has taken it! OUT it is!

Done well in the deep! Shorter, on off. Slapped to the left of long off. The man from sweeper cover runs to his right and puts in a slide. The man from long off throws it back. Two taken.
