Alright, folks! That is it from the coverage of this game! We have one more game before Christmas in the Big Bash League which will be played on 24th December, 2021. Hobart Hurricanes will host Melbourne Stars. This clash will begin at 3.30 pm local (4.30 am GMT), but as you all know, the buildup will begin well in advance. So please tune in early! Cheers!
Matthew Kuhnemann is up for a chat now. He says that to get all the points is fantastic. Mentions that he was happy with the way he bowled and says that Ben Duckett played exceptionally well and he is a good player of spin.
BEN DUCKETT HAS BEEN ADJUDGED THE PLAYER OF THE MATCH.
Earlier in the day, the Heat clobbered 208 after electing to bat. Like the Strikers, they too, were a couple of wickets down pretty early. But their middle order stood up, with Duckett and Heazlett adding 114 in 64 balls for the fourth wicket. Adelaide began well but lost the plot in the middle overs. Fawad Ahmed played a containing role but the rest just leaked runs, including Rashid Khan, in spite of his three-fer. Please stay tuned for the presentation...
The Strikers needed to get off to a flier but they were two down pretty quickly, by the second over. After that, Renshaw, Wells and Kelly tried their best but the initial dents made the asking rate mount pretty steeply. The Heat were pretty decent with the ball, with Kuhnemann and Steketee snaring 3 apiece while Bazley claiming 2.
Comfortable win in the end then, for the Brisbane boys. Well, chasing a total of 209 runs was always going to be a tough ask and Adelaide Strikers never really looked like chasing the target at any stage. The home side failed to get over the line and it has been a dominant display from Brisbane Heat.
