Right. That is all we have from this clash. We have another BBL match coming up though. Sydney Sixers will take on Melbourne Renegades at 2 pm IST (8:30 am GMT). It hasn't started yet as there was some rain earlier but you can switch tabs and join my colleagues. They will keep you updated!
Xavier Bartlett is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his brilliant bowling show. He finished with figures of 4-0-30-4 and took 4 big wickets!
Brisbane Heat had a dream start with the ball. They did not have the biggest of totals on the board and needed early wickets if they had to defend this total. Xavier Bartlett provided them with two wickets in the same over which put them right on top of the game and when a partnership was brewing, he took another couple of wickets in the 14th over to put the Hurricanes in deep trouble. Mujeeb Ur Rahman was also brilliant as he took 3 wickets for just 20 runs in his spell. Towards the end though, Heat were put under the pump when Rogers and Ellis took off but they managed to defend it in the end.
Hobart Hurricanes would have wanted to get a strong start to chase down this score with ease but that was not to happen. Their openers went back early and they were in big trouble. D'Arcy Short and Harry Brook did try to repair things but it was a short recovery. Peter Handscomb and Tim David did hit a handful of big blows to reignite the hope but their stay in the middle was short. Meanwhile, Short, who was struggling to get boundaries at the other end also fell while looking to up the ante and the game looked done by then. It looked done but Thomas Rogers and Nathan Ellis had different plans. They got boundaries at regular intervals to keep them in the game long enough. Rogers was sensational as he scored 33 in 20 balls. Things got closer than they seemed at one point and Hurricanes would be disappointed. Had one of their top-order batters batted through the innings, they could have won this game!
What a game to start 2022! Not a lot of big hits in the game but it was an entertainer nonetheless. Brisbane Heat needed a win and have got one along with the Bash Boost point!

Oh, dear! Thomas Rogers has missed out on a scoring opportunity and he would be livid with himself! This was a juicy full toss, outside off. Rogers looks to heave it across the line but he fails to get any blade on it. 18 needed from 4 now.

FOUR! Nicely done! Full and wide, outside off. Thomas Rogers reaches out and slices it past the diving point fielder for a boundary.
Right. 22 needed in the last over. Not sure many people thought that the match would go in the final over. Jack Wildermuth is the man with the ball in his hand.

Absolute chaos in the middle! Good-length ball, outside off. Riley Meredith drags it wide of long on and manages only a single. The throw is a bit wayward at the keeper's end and the batters sneak in another run. 22 runs needed off 6 balls and the good thing for the Hurricanes is that Rogers is back on strike for the next over.
