Right then, that concludes our coverage of the Women's T20 Commonwealth Games, 2022. Australia Women have finished on top and they win gold while India Women are the worthy silver medal holders. New Zealand Women finish third and win bronze after their win against England Women. All the three teams line-up to get their medals now. It is a proud moment for each of these teams and their country as a whole. Truly a moment to remember for the rest of their life! It has been a great pleasure and honour to bring to you the coverage of this competition. We will see you again as the cricketing action continues around the world. Till then, goodbye and cheers!
Earlier in the game, Australia got to a good total with the bat courtesy of a fine knock by Mooney and cameos by Gardner and Haynes. Indians were brilliant in the field and did well to keep their hopes alive at the halfway mark. However, India just could not get the better of a strong Australian team and have to settle for a SILVER MEDAL in the Commonwealth Games, 2022.
Australia Women had some nervous moments in this game but they still had enough quality in them to get over all the hurdles that came their way. Megan Schutt got an important wicket of Rodrigues and then Ashleigh Gardner bowled a match-changing spell where she got the wickets of Kaur and Pooja Vastrakar. That brought them right on the top and then they brought their A-game on the field as they got three run outs and once again showed why they are the best.
India Women had a stiff target in front of them but they had the arsenal to chase down this total. However, the start was not good for India as both their swashbuckling openers departed in the Powerplay. However, Jemimah Rodrigues and the skipper Kaur were in no mood to let this game slip away so easily and they put together a fantastic stand of 96 runs. The wicket of Jemimah in the 15th over turned the game around as India started losing wickets at the regular intervals and have fallen short of the target in the end.
It’s a heartbreak for India Women though! They came so close again but just could not close out the game when it mattered the most but they will go back with a silver medal and should be proud of what they have achieved here. Talking about this match, it was a cracker of a game! A game that was worthy of a grand finale of a mega event. The momentum swung from one team to another and the game went right down to the wire but in the end, it is Australia Women who have held their composure in crunch situations and have beaten the Indian side in a big final again just like they did two years back in the final of the Women's T20 World Cup.
AUSTRALIA WOMEN WIN GOLD IN THE WOMEN’S T20 COMPETITION AT THE COMMONWEALTH GAMES, 2022! They have completed the trilogy that might never be achieved again - Women’s T20 World Cup, the 50-over Women’s World Cup and now the Gold Medal in the Commonwealth Games. This Australian team will surely go down in the history of the game as one of the best teams to ever play the game of cricket.

OUT! LBW! IT IS GOLD FOR AUSTRALIA WOMEN! Flatter and on middle. Yastika Bhatia tries to reverse hit it but misses and gets hit on the pads. That is dead in front but Bhatia wants to take it upstairs. No bat there. Ball Tracking shows it is the umpire's call on wickets hitting and the on-field decision stays. Australia Women win by 9 runs.
Yastika Bhatia has been given out LBW here! She has taken the DRS! The replays roll in and the UltraEdge shows no bat involved. The Ball Tracking rolls and it is enough for Australia Women to continue with their celebration. It is all over for India Women!
Renuka Singh is the last batter in!

OUT! RUN OUT! This is full and outside off. Bhatia comes down the track and lofts it to long off. She tries to run back for two as Bhatia wants to keep the strike but the throw from Alana King is good enough to run out Meghna Singh at the bowler's end.

India Women get a crucial single! Yastika Bhatia retains the strike! Bhatia makes room and Megan Schutt follows her. It is fuller in length and Bhatia pushes it to covers and sets off for a single. The fielder there collects the ball and throws it a bit slowly and off over Healy. She jumps and catches it. However, Meghna Singh makes her ground in the meanwhile. India Women need 11 from 6 balls!

OUT! LBW! Deepti Sharma goes and it is all falling apart for India! A full ball, slower and it nips back in after landing around off. Sharma looks to flick but misses and gets hit on the pads. A huge appeal for LBW and up goes the finger! Ultra Edge shows no bat. Ball Tracking shows three reds and Sharma goes now.
