That is all from this match. Two wins and two losses for both teams now. Time for another match in the CPL. Guyana Amazon Warriors will take on St Kitts and Nevis Patriots on the 2nd of this month at 7.30 pm IST (2 pm GMT). Do join us for the build up. Cheers!
Alick Athanaze is the Player of the Match. He says it was a special knock after the loss in the previous game. Adds he started slow but he was confident to catch up in the end. Reckons it was a good wicket to bat on. Tells it was about targeting the bowlers and he tried his best. Shares the skipper is always positive and keeps encouraging all the players.
Jamaica Tallawahs knew they were 15-20 runs short. Apart from Shamarh Brooks, no one chipped in with runs. Imad Wasim played a cameo but Jamaica Tallawahs needed more than that. Definitely, the pitch was a bit sluggish but Jamaica Tallawahs needed more runs from top order. In reply, the bowling group started well, Mohammad Amir and Chris Green were pretty impressive but got no able support. They lacked composure in the back end which Jamaica Tallawahs will hope to rectify in the next game.
Barbados Royals needed a formidable score but were not helped at the start as lost both the openers cheaply. However, they got the chase back on track with Alick Athanaze and Laurie Evans backing each other. Alick Athanaze was the aggressor while Evans hold it from one end. Once, the pitch got easy to bat on, the runs started to flow, Alick Athanaze got to his fifty and eventually, Rovman Powell and Jason Holder came in to do the finishing job.
A well calculated chase by the Royals. Rovman Powell mentioned in the last game that they are giving away too many runs lately but in this game, they executed the role pretty well and are back to winning ways.
