Right then, that is it from the game. The losing streak continues for the Birmingham Phoenix Women. The Hundred Womens action continues as we have a game lined up on Sunday, the 28th of July and it will be between the Welsh Fire Women and the Oval Invincibles Women at the Sophia Gardens, Cardiff. The game will begin at 7.30 pm IST (2 pm GMT) but as you all know, our build up joins much sooner so do join us for the same. Until then, take care, and cheers!
Meg Lanning is the Player of the Match for her excellent knock. She says that it was a all round performace from them. Adds that they batted well but they struggled towards the end as they were aiming for the 160 run mark. Ends by saying that she told their bowlers to keep it simple and says that they will look to continue with the same form.
Presentations coming up...
Earlier in the match, the Birmingham Phoenix Women bowlers had a mixed performance, with Katie Levick standing out by taking 3 wickets for 24 runs. Despite Emily Arlott's two wickets being costly, they restricted the London Spirit to under 150 runs. The Spirit started well but lost Georgia Redmayne early. Cordelia Griffith scored a quick 21, while Heather Knight and Meg Lanning contributed with useful innings, Lanning top-scoring with 53 runs.
Pheonix struggled with the bat earlier on. Bates needed to go at a better strike rate but she struggled and that put them behind earlier on in the game. Devine and Perry though got them back into it with a fine, fine partnership. However, the task was a little too much for them too. Also, London bowled brilliantly towards the death and in the end, they fell short.
A very convincing win for London and they have now made it two in two. 147 was always going to be a tough challenge for the Phoenix and they have fallen well short. Credit to Knight she shuffled her bowlers really well and most of them stepped up to the occasion. Glenn was the star but she was very well supported by Dean and Gibson. The two did not take a lot of wickets but kept it very tight which built the pressure.

OUT! TAKEN! Ellyse Perry holes out! She steps out and looks to go over mid off. She does not time it that well, Eva Gray runs back and takes it nicely.
