That concludes the proceedings here. Oval Invincibles have become the first team to successfully chase at this ground in this edition. On Sunday, 28th August, we will see the clash between Birmingham Phoenix and Manchester Originals. The Women's game will start at 8 pm IST (2.30 pm GMT) and the Men's game will begin at 11.30 pm IST (6 pm GMT). Do join us in advance for the build-up. Cheers!
Sam Billings, the captain of Oval Invincibles, says that it was an important win and they needed this and he is happy with their performance. Tells that Narine was not there and Peter Hatzoglou stepped up well and they played a proper game here. Adds that fielding was quite good and feels that the catch by Matt Milnes and Jacks running out Morgan were big moments of the game. Adds that Sam Curran is a world-class player and he has grown a lot over the last few years and says that he took wickets at crucial junctures. Mentions that both the Curran brothers are the characters you need in the team. Feels that it is a tough place to come and win and says that they played well here. Sharing his thoughts about the pitch and conditions, Sam says that he felt that spin was the way forward in this game. Applauds Will Jacks for the way he played and says that he is a world-class player and he is in the form of his life. Also adds that Jacks plays some shots that many people cannot play and signs off by saying that it will be a tough game in Manchester for them but they will take a lot of confidence from here.
Sam Curran is the Player of the Match for his 3-wicket haul. Says that it's very simple for them, they have to win all their games to go through. Feels that this win will boost their confidence. Mentions that they have struggled to pick wickets in the Powerplay this season. Praises Peter Hatzoglou for his bowling and states that they bowled very well as a unit. Shares that Will Jacks made the batting look easy and he should have got this award as he killed the chase for them. Sam also praises Tom Curran for his cameo towards the end. Hopes to continue with the same momentum and tells that every game is important from here.
Stay tuned for the presentation...
Coming to the chase, Oval Invincibles were clinical in both facets of the game. Led by Sam Curran's 3-fer, they restricted London Spirit to a below-par total and then their openers provided them with a decent platform. Will Jacks continued with his purple patch and his presence in the middle never allowed any pressure to build on Oval Invincibles. His stand with Rilee Rossouw forced London on the back foot, and despite both the set batters getting dismissed in quick succession, Oval overhauled the target with ease courtesy of some lusty blows from Tom Curran. A win with 14 balls to spare will help them address their NRR as they now move into the top three.
A convincing win for Oval Invincibles, and they have kept their chances alive for a finish in the top three. Talking about the top three, London Spirit had a golden chance to seal that by winning this game but will have to now wait for the next match to do it.

OUT! CAUGHT! Does Mason Crane's right foot touch the fence there? The umpire does not think so and Sam Curran has to depart. Fullish delivery on middle. Sam Curran goes for a big hit again down the ground. He gets better timing this time than the last one but still not enough to clear the rope as Mason Crane takes a good catch. He first takes it, then throws it in the air as the momentum was taking him over the ropes. Thereafter, Crane comes back into the playing area and completes the catch.
Is that a clean catch? Mason Crane has taken a skier near the fence but has he touched the fence? The answer is no.
