With this victory, Multan Sultans have qualified for the playoffs. They will be in action again on Saturday, facing Quetta Gladiators, at 7.30 pm IST (2 pm GMT). Cheers!
Rilee Rossouw is chosen for the Player of the Match award. His 51-ball 121 was studded with 12 fours and 8 thunderous sixes and his ruthless batting demolished the bowling of Peshawar Zalmi.
Chasing a mammoth target of 243, the start from Multan Sultans was not good. They lost both their in-form openers cheaply but that didn't affect their approach. The alliance between Rilee Rossouw and Kieron Pollard helped them to gain some handy momentum and from thereon, the fight was on. The West Indian got dismissed but the South African continued with his charge. He broke his own record for the fastest PSL hundred and put the Sultans within touching distance of the target. Towards the end, he got out but Anwar Ali's 8-ball 24 and Usama Mir's 3-ball 11 powered them over the finish line.
Peshawar Zalmi put together a very impressive batting performance and once again they were led by their top order. Babar Azam and Saim Ayub were in their element and the likes of Mohammad Haris and Tom Kohler-Cadmore also chipped in with vital knocks. Every bowler suffered but Abbas Afridi still managed to claim a 4-wicket haul.
Wow, what a chase! This edition of the PSL has been dishing out some really high-scoring humdingers and we witnessed yet another marvellous game! Multan Sultans scaled down a massive target with 5 balls to spare in the end. This game is not for the bowlers, this venue is not for the bowlers. Graveyard.
