Right. That is all we have from this game. Scotland go up in the series and would look to seal the series in the second T20I, whereas, Zimbabwe would want to bounce back in the next game. The second T20I will be played on Friday, 17th September 2021 at 2 pm local (1 pm GMT), but, the build-up will begin early. Do join us then. Cheers!
The bowling by Scotland was good at the start, but they lost their way in the middle overs slightly as they were not able to contain a couple of the Zimbabwean batters, but, they bounced back really well towards the back end of the innings and that saw them end on the right side of the result. Safyaan Sharif was definitely the pick of the lot as he ended with figures of 4-0-24-4 and started and ended the innings well for the Scots. All of their bowlers bowled well and were very economical and with the exception of Michael Leask, all the bowlers had at least one wicket to their name. Overall, a combined bowling effort sees them go up in this series.
Zimbabwe had a torrid start to the run chase as they lost both their openers in the span of the first three overs. They found it hard to keep the runs flowing but the duo of Regis Chakabva and Craig Ervine did well to stitch a stand of 48, but both of them could not go on for longer and they both lost their wicket. Milton Shumba and Sean Williams played smartly and ensured that they did not lose any more wickets as they forged a 54-run stand and they looked like they would take their team home, but, at the wrong time, Williams lost his wicket. Shumba tried hard towards the end but he was not able to help his team win the game.
A superb bowling display and comeback from Scotland as they have won this game by 7 runs and they go 1-0 up in this 3-game T20I series! At one stage, it looked like Zimbabwe would run home with the game as they need just 33 in the last 4 overs, but the Scots held their nerve in the death to cross the line.

OUT! RUN OUT! Another one bites the dust! Tendai Chatara sacrifices his wicket for Milton Shumba. Length ball, on off. Tendai Chatara taps it to the right of the bowler and looks to take a run. Safyaan Sharif runs to collect the ball and then scampers through towards the non-striker's end to whip the bails off. Chatara is well short of his crease and he has to depart.
