STEVEN SMITH WINS THE PLAYER OF THE MATCH AWARD FOR HIS BLISTERING FIFTY. He says that it was a good game and got tight towards the end but the boys did well to get them over the line. Adds that a few of their batters did not have a decent hit for a while but it was important for them to get some game time before the finals. Lauds Hayden Kerr, Ben Dwarshuis, and Lachlan Shaw as they were brilliant with the bat for them. Shares that he has been enjoying his time in the middle with the bat and hopes to carry on the form. Ends by sharing that he will be available for the game against the Thunder which will be his for this season.
Time for the post-match presentation...
Adelaide Strikers were a bit loose with the ball early on and leaked a few runs in the powerplay. They came back strong and picked up key wickets around the halfway mark of the chase but the young lower-order of the Sixers kept their calm and snatched the win from the Strikers. Lloyd Pope, Jamie Overton, and Jordan Buckingham were the stand-out bowlers for the Strikers who tried hard but ended on the losing side. Earlier today, the Strikers batted first and posted a healthy score of 182/5 on the back of a fine fifty from Ollie Pope and useful runs from Alex Ross and Jamie Overton. Jack Edwards and Todd Murphy did well with the ball for the Sixers. The Sixers move to the top of the table with this win while the Strikers are on the brink of an exit.
Phew! We've witnessed a thriller at the Adelaide Oval where the Sydney Sixers prevailed over the Adelaide Strikers by three wickets in the final over of the game. Chasing a competitive score of 183 for the win, the Sixers lost Josh Philippe early but Steven Smith carried on from where he left in the last game and blasted another fifty to get the Sixers ahead in the game. The Strikers bounced back and picked a few quick wickets to have the Sixers reeling at 92/5 in the 11th over. Lachlan Shaw and Ben Dwarshuis got together and stitched a quick 55-run partnership. Both the batters made handy 30s while Hayden Kerr and Sean Abbott stuck a few lusty blows to take the Sixers home.

That will be it! Sydney Sixers get home by 3 wickets in a brilliant finish at the Adelaide Oval. Almost a yorker around off-stump. Abbott bunts this towards the on-side of the pitch away from the short mid-on fielder and takes off for a single. The short mid-wicket fielder collects the ball and takes a shy at the non-striker's end but misses. Abbott puts in the dive and makes his ground as the bowler is unable to gather the ball. The Sixers win!

This game has gone down to the wire. The Sixers need 10 off the last over. Henry Thornton has the ball in hand. Can he get the job done for the Strikers??
