That is all we have from this game. The action though continues in the Caribbean Premier League. There is another clash left in the day between Saint Lucia Kings and Guyana Amazon Warriors. Do join us for the same at 7 pm local (11 pm GMT). Till then, take care and goodbye!
Rovman Powell, the skipper of Jamaica Tallawahs, says that he is very pleased with the game and it was important to get two points here. Adds that the batters did really well and that is a very good thing for them. Says that they still need to do better in the death overs with the bat. Credits Brooks for the way he batted and says that it is satisfying to watch him bat like this.
The skipper of St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, Chris Gayle says that the bowlers bowled really well but the batters let the team down. Adds that the score was par and the wicket is still good for batting despite all the turn. Mentions that he needs to score more runs and a match-winning knock is required from him.
Andre Russell is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH! He says he is not really pleased with his personal form but he will look to do better now. Credits the entire team for how they played after losing a few games on the trot. Says that the pitches have been spinning and which is why they looked to keep wickets in hand till the end here.
The bowling was good throughout the course of the innings. Jamaica Tallawahs looked in control of the run chase and some of the credit for the same has to go to the batters as well, as they posted a great total, which gave the bowlers some breathing space to maneuver their lines and lengths. Migael Pretorius had an outing to remember as in his quota of 4 overs, he took 3 wickets and gave away just 26 runs. In the spin department, Chris Green was the star as he ended with figures of 4-0-19-1. His spin partner, Veerasammy Permaul had a decent outing as he took 2 wickets, whereas, Imad Wasim was slightly off-color in this game. Overall, a complete display with bat and ball sees them end up on the winning side.
The run chase for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots never seemed to get going. They did have a couple of good partnerships, but their run rate never seemed to peak. They lost 2 quick wickets, which also included the wicket of the dangerous, Chris Gayle. After that, there was a decent stand between Devon Thomas and Joshua Da Silva of 49 runs. They were scoring runs at a sluggish rate early on but seemed to pick up the pace as the stand went on. But it was broken at the wrong time, due to a run out, and from a position of 77/2, they slipped to 98/5. Dominic Drakes slammed a few hits but he got out at the wrong time too and Fabian Allen could not do enough to take his team over the line.
Smiles in the Jamaica Tallawahs camp as they have put in a convincing display and have won this game by 22 runs! A team effort, really. Their batters set the platform and their bowlers did their bit to see them win. This will definitely boost their morale and confidence. This win sees them move up to fourth place on the table and they will want to keep rising. Not the best display from St Kitts and Nevis Patriots and they have been handed a mean defeat. They will be hoping to bounce back in their next clash.
