That’s it from this game then! Another game follows on the 19th. That’s a game between MI New York and the San Francisco Unicorns. That game begins at 6 am IST. Till then, goodbye and take care!
The skipper of Los Angeles Knight Riders, Sunil Narine says this was a much-needed win and they played the Powerplay well and it was a total team effort. Adds that at this stage of the tournament, all they need to do is win and executing their plans is the best way to do that. Adds that Unmukt Chand is batting well and he did not get good runs in the last few game but kept working hard and did well today. Says it is always good to have local talent doing well for any franchise.
The losing skipper of Seattle Orcas, Heinrich Klaasen says he thinks they batted well but that Powerplay and wickets in the hand at the end were the difference. Mentions they are in for reset, refresh and get back mode as they were not that bad in this game just 15-20 runs short. Says they are not completely out of it and will keep trying till the end.
Ryan Rickelton IS THE PLAYER OF THE MATCH. He says the surface wasn't the easiest and they thought 140 was a good score but feels frustrated to be in a good situation for 150-160 and ending up 15 short. Adds that the ball was bouncing a bit more and was sticky as well. Mentions he could have smashed a few more boundaries and that could have helped his side win but it wasn't to be so disappointed.
Unmukt Chand says this was an important win for them to stay alive in the tournament and they bowled well and just a couple of handy partnerships were enough to get them to chase this down. Adds that him keeping the stumps for 20 years helped him assess the tone of the pitch and that was key for him to play accordingly. Mentions that for them all the games are like a final and they need to win them all and they are hopeful of keeping this form going.
Orcas on the other hand, bowled well, the likes of Harmeet Singh, Lungi Ngidi, Cameron Gannon and Keemo Paul were good. Credit to them to take it till the last over but we just feel they were around 10 or 12 runs short with the bat. They were all set to score 170 at once but that poor finish is what cost them the game.
The Knight Riders do manage to get over the line in the end. It was as comfortable as we thought it would be but after two losses, this will come as a relief for them. Chasing a moderate score, they just needed a couple of good stands and one good innings and they got that. First, it was Chand and Roy and then it was Saif Badar who played a handy cameo towards the end. Chand though was the mainstay with a fine ton. The rest just played around him. He took his side in a position where they could be termed as favourites and Badar did the finishing job.

TWO LEG BYES! Good length following the batter to his leg, the ball deflects off his pads towards backward square leg and the batters run a couple. Leg byes signaled.
OUT! TAKEN! On a length around middle and off, Andre Russell clears his front leg and slogs this high in the sky towards Aaron Jones at deep mid-wicket. The ball gets more elevation than distance and it is taken nicely by Jones right in front of the fence. Andre Russell departs and the Los Angeles Knight Riders are just 3 runs away from a victory.
