The Presentation ceremony...
Earlier in the day, Brisbane Heat reached 188 for 4 after being reduced to 55 for 4 in the 7th over courtesy of Sam Hain and Jimmy Peirson who added an unbeaten 133 for the 5th wicket. Sam Hain was brutal at the end getting 73 off 41 balls and Jimmy Peirson accompanied him well with an unbeaten 57. Luke Wood was the pick of the Stars’ bowler with 2 for 38. Nathan Coulter-Nile bowled a good spell of 1 for 29 and gave good support. Coming to the chase, it was a topsy-turvy one but in the end, the Heat were able to come out on top.
Brisbane Heat started poorly with the ball and conceded at nearly 11 runs per over in the first five. The spinners pulled it back for them in the middle. Matthew Kuhnemann was economical as he conceded 23 runs in his spell of four overs. Mitchell Swepson was the pick of the bowlers getting 2 for 23 in his 4 overs. James Bazley took a wicket and Spencer Johnson capped it off nicely with a terrific final over to take Heat to number 3 in the points table with their 4th win on the trot.
The Melbourne Stars nearly timed their chase to perfection but fell short by just 4 runs in the end. Thomas Rogers got them off a rocketing start getting 41 off just 20 balls. The openers added 55 inside 5 overs. Joe Clarke then stitched a handy partnership with Campbell Kellaway of 42 runs. Hilton Cartwright joined Marcus Stoinis in the middle and the batters added 80 runs in just 41 deliveries but failed to take the Stars over the line.
What a fantastic contest we have witnessed yet again between these two sides and just like it was at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Brisbane Heat win on the final delivery once again and with this win have sealed a playoff spot as well.

It's all over and Spencer Johnson has done it for Brisbane Heat! Johnson looks for the yorker but ends up serving a low full toss on middle and leg. Marcus Stoinis backs away but only manages to thump it down to long on for a single. Johnson is ecstatic and so are all the other Heat players but its' heartbreak again for the Stars. Brisbane Heat win by 4 runs and move into 3rd place on the points table!

BYE! Excellent bowling from Spencer Johnson as he nails the wide yorker once again. Hilton Cartwright swings but misses and they do scamper through for the bye. 6 needed off the last ball.

Just the single! Very full and outside off, Marcus Stoinis stays deep in his crease and drills it to the right of extra cover. Usman Khawaja there makes a good stop and keeps it down to a run.

Johnson nails the wide yorker this time and Marcus Stoinis fails to get any bat on it. Still, 10 needed off 4 balls now.

FOUR! Marcus Stoinis with a cheeky shot and Spencer Johnson is under pressure right away. This is shorter and outside off, Stoinis shuffles across the stumps and helps it over short fine leg for a boundary. 10 needed now off 5 balls.
14 needed off the final over. Spencer Johnson to bowl. Can he defend for the Brisbane Heat or will Marcus Stoinis take Melbourne Stars over the line?
