Brandon King, the skipper of Jamaica Tallawahs says that he is disappointed with the performance. Adds they were 20-30 runs short. Feels that it was a commendable job by the bowlers before the batters took them home. States that they could not have asked for anything more from the crowd and hopes to leave Trinidad on a high.
Time for Post-Match presentations...
Earlier today, Jamaica Tallawahs scratched their way through to 154 for 8. They were struggling till the halfway mark but Imad Wasim provided the much-needed momentum with a 33-ball 62 and took his side to a respectable total. None of the other batters got going and Tallawahs posted a below-par total. Ali Khan was the pick of the Knight Riders’ bowlers with 3 for 27 in his spell. Narine chipped in with two while Hosein and Carmichael took one apiece. A thumping win for the Men in Red at the end.
Not much to talk about the Jamaica Tallawahs bowling who tried hard but the Trinbago Knight Riders came hard at them. They were defending a modest score and failed to put pressure on the Knight Riders' batting. Imad Wasim picked up two wickets while Chris Green chipped in with one. Jamaica Tallawahs slide further and their chances of going ahead looks grim.
A pretty one-sided affair this as the Trinbago Knight Riders have taken this game by 7 wickets and with more than 2 overs to spare. Chasing a modest, 155 for the win, Sunil Narine got the TKR going with a 6-ball 15. Pooran came in at 3 and smacked a brilliant 54 off 35. Pollard departed early but Guptill anchored the innings with a well-complied fifty and remained unbeaten at the end. Russell hammered a quick 20* off 12 and got the job done for the home side.
