Right then, that is it from this game and a record crowd at Trent Bridge has seen both their Men's and Women's teams get the win and the Men's team has even managed to stay afloat in the competition. There is still one more game to go in the penultimate Saturday of The Hundred Men, 2023 as Southern Brave take on Oval Invincibles at The Rose Bowl in Southampton. Matthew Carter is the Hero of the Match. Carter says that they work hard in the training for scenarios like that and he is glad that it came off. Adds that the wicket allowed him to spin it a bit and also push it through. Mentions that the more you attack the stumps, the more it helps and the fielding is a big thing as it can win or lose you the game. On the record crowd, he says that it is great to see and they play a big role as well. Ends by saying that they need to hang in there and see what happens in terms of qualification.
Earlier in the game, After being asked to bat first, Trent Rockets managed to score 162 with contribution throughout the batting lineup. Everyone chipped in with some runs helping the side post a brilliant total on a track that had some turn on it. Colin Munro was the top scorer with 34 runs in just 17 deliveries. Birmingham Phoenix bowled decent with Adam Milne picking up a couple while others chipped in with a wicket each. Tanveer Sangha was wicketless for them.
The bowling was outstanding from Trent Rockets as they took a firm grip on the game ever since the dismissal of Will Smeed. Daniel Sams was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up 3 wickets. Matthew Carter was superb with figures of 2 wickets for just 15 runs, while others chipped in with a wicket each. Skipper Lewis Gregory was the only one left wicketless today.
Chase began with a flourish as Will Smeed and Ben Duckett looked aggressive while the duo lasted. Tom Kohler-Cadmore inflicted a run out on Will Smeed and Ben Duckett soon followed him in the dugout. Trent Rockets were in a situation of bother but Liam Livingstone and Jamie Smith stabled the ship for a while with a partnership of 47 runs. Once the partnership was broken, wickets fell in clusters and Birmingham Phoenix went way behind in the game. Jamie Smith was the only batter that showed some sort of resistance and scored 38 runs but that was no way near enough to chase the total.
With a convincing victory by 46 runs, Trent Rockets climb up to second in the table thanks to their NRR, while Birmingham Phoenix lost the last flame of any hope for this edition.

Sam Cook runs in from the deep and collects this but the ball has popped out and rolled through his sleeves into his elbow bucket and after a lengthy check the third umpire gives it OUT. OUT! CAUGHT! The decision has finally been made and it is given as a fair catch. On a good length over middle and leg, Kane Richardson backs away and gets under it before liftin g it a mile high in the air. The ball finally comes down around the wicket region where Sam Cook steams in from square leg and puts in the dive to take the catch. As Cook hits the ground though, the ball pops out a bit because of the impact. The third umpire checks it from a few different angles and deems that Cook did have control of the ball. Richardson has to walk back.
