Right then, that is it from this one-sided affair where Trent Rockets Women absolutely demolish Manchester Originals Women. However, the action in the Men's Hundred is not far away as the same two teams go up against each other. That game will begin at 11 pm IST (5.30 pm GMT), but you can join us early for all the build-up. Untile then, cheers and goodbye!
Bryony Smith is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH. She says that the bowling has been coming out well for her and that she is happy with it. Adds that she and Lizelle Lee just talked about being positive and not letting the dots pile up. Closes by saying that she is happy to play in front of the home crowd and hopefully they keep winning.
Manchester Originals Women, on the other, had another forgettable outing as they looked clueless out there and sadly that has been their story so far this season. Their bowling did not look sharp enough to challenge the batters and they gave too many loose deliveries. Sophie Ecclestone picked up the only wicket but they never really troubled the Trent Rockets Women and now need to depend on other results to go their way to stay alive in the tournament.
Trent Rockets Women got off to a flier with Lizelle Lee and Bryony Smith both going full attacking right from the start s they hit more than 10 boundaries in the first 25 balls. They scored 48 runs in the Powerplay and ended up adding 60 runs in total before Smith got out on 28 off just 19 balls which truly broke the back of this chase. Then skipper Natalie Sciver-Brunt joined and kept the runs flowing along with Lee and made sure that they take their side home. Natalie Sciver-Brunt remained unbeaten on 33 off just 18 balls while Lee scored 44 off just 27, and they finished the job with 36 alls to spare which helps their NRR as well.
A statement victory for Trent Rockets Women! They have completely outplayed their opponents and made this chase look like a cakewalk that too in a must-win game. Manchester Originals Women were not able to match the quality and are staring down the barrel now.
