Man of the Match
Asif Khan
Commentry
Right then, that is it from this cracker of a game. The ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers action continues as we have a game lined up on Friday, the 7th of July. It begins at 12.30 pm IST (7 am GMT). But as you know, our build-up begins much sooner so do join us for the same. Until then, take care, and cheers!
Vriitya Aravind the skipper of United Arab Emirates says that the openers did their job really well and all credit to Asif Khan for his knock. Adds that it was a great pressure situation and their players put up an excellent show. Ends by saying that there were a lot of takeaways from this game and they will keep on improving.
Monank Patel the skipper of USA says that he is a bit disappointed with the result. Adds that their players played really well and ends by saying that they will keep on improving.
Asif Khan is the player of the match for his astonishing innings of 151. He says that the credit needs to be given to the coach and the skipper as they allowed me to open the innings. Adds that in the back of his mind, the pressure was there as he failed in the first few games but he batted through the 50 overs and that helped him massively. Mentions that the game was really tight and it feels delighted to win such games.
... Stay tuned for Presentations ...
Earlier in the match it was an Asif Khan show. He scored 151 off 145 deliveries and made his side reach a mammoth total of 308 runs. Ali Khan was the pick of the bowlers for USA as he picked two wickets for his side whilst Saurabh Netravalkar and Nosthush Kenjige had one in their kitty.
The bowlers just had a day to forget. More than 600 runs were scored in the game. Despite that, United Arab Emirates will be pleased as they managed to defend it after their batters had put in a stellar performance in the first innings. Sanchit Sharma picked up three wickets. Ali Naseer and Junaid Siddique chipped in with two wickets each while Muhammad Jawadullah and Aayan Khan have one in their bank.
WHAT A GAME! WHAT A WIN! The two sides are separated by just a single run! What a humdinger of a contest we have noticed here at Takashinga Sports Club, Harare. The momentum of the game swung like a pendulum from one corner to another and in the end, it was the United Arab Emirates who came out on top. Have to say that it was a great fight from the USA side. They were reeling at 32/2 and had lost both of their openers inside 7 overs of play. The 3rd and the 4th wicket partnership were crucial ones as they went on for 112 and 92 runs respectively. Monank Patel, Aaron Jones, and Gajanand Singh all scored a half-century but in the end, it all came down to the wire, where they only fell short of a SINGLE RUN!

OUT! IN THE AIR AND GONE! The youth of United Arab Emirates have prevailed as they come out on top defeating USA by 1 run. On a length in middle, with fingers rolled over it, Ali Khan looked to nudge it towards the on side but gets a leading edge in the hands of Vriitya Aravind at extra cover. The stand-in skipper makes no mistake this time and has galloped it with both hands to see his side home by just 1 run.

On a length in middle, Ali Khan slogs this in front of the long on fielder and takes a couple. The umpire needs to have a look for a short run but the replay suggests that Ali Khan has placed his bat well behind the crease. After 599 delivery it has all come down to the final one with 2 runs needed.
Ali Khan walks out next.

OUT! The topsy-turvy nature of the game continues as Sanchit Sharma has cleaned up Nisarg Patel. On a length bang on off, Nisarg Patel looks to create some room as he moves to his leg before attempting the lofted drive but he gets undone by the slow pace on it and the ball has clipped into the stumps.

On a length around off, Nisarg Patel drills this towards the long off region and runs a couple here. 4 needed off the last 3 deliveries.

FOUR! This is huge in the context of this game as Nisarg Patel has lofted this for a boundary. Short-pitched delivery wide of off, Nisarg Patel stands tall and lofts this over the extra-cover fielder fo a boundary.
